Sustainability Manager Logistics on a freelance / interim base (all gender)

This is only on a project basis for freelance / interim manager. No permanent contract, no students !

What we offer:

  • Contract: Freelance/interim manager for 6 months w/ possibility of extension

  • Work mode: 3 days/week, on-site presence Düsseldorf or travel to business locations (average 20% travel time expected)

Purpose of the position

As a Group Logistics Sustainability Expert, you will manage Logistics Scope 3 emissions and support the company’s journey towards its decarbonisation targets. The focus in on upstream and downstream transportation and distribution.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation/delivery of the Handbook containing scope, measurement and calculation methods, ways of working, etc.

  • Preparation/delivery of the strategic Roadmap with the key decarbonisation levers, prioritised

  • Coordination of the workgroup and tracking of the decarbonisation initiatives with the representatives from the business

Job requirements

  • Several years of experience in international supply chain management/ logistics role, with substantial work and projects in logistics sustainability/ decarbonisation (green logistics) at corporate level

  • Strong stakeholder management at group and local levels

  • Able to prepare and deliver high-impact presentations and written documentation

  • Project Management and organizational skills, able to coordinate workstreams in multiple geographies, in a project-like context

  • Knowledge of carbon emissions standards and regulations at European level

  • Knowledge and practice of Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)/ Greenhouse Gas (GHG) protocol, GLEC Framework

Willing to travel – expected level of travel of this position is up to 20% of the time.
