Purpose of the position

Start-Up Management plays a key role in delivering successful projects in our factories. It includes preparing the organization for the upcoming change, addressing all requirements from Operations, ensuring people are adequately trained, leading through commissioning, qualification and verification of the equipment or process change and ensuring a smooth transition into ongoing production.

As part of the Group Engineering team, you will be responsible for driving the groupwide capability building activities for Start-Up Management and with this enable our Manufacturing colleagues in the Management Units to deliver vertical start-ups of production within all projects. We are looking for an expert with very good communication skills who has experience in manufacturing and start-ups of production and loves to work in an international team with colleagues from all Intersnack Management Units.

The position is located in Düsseldorf/Germany or in one of Intersnack’s European Management Units.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve Global Start-Up Management standards (templates, trainings, guidelines)
  • Organize and conduct trainings and workshops with international colleagues
  • Coach Regional Process Owners and Start-Up Leaders
  • Support Regional Process Owners in getting qualified according to their skill targets and in rolling-out the Start-Up Management standards in their Management Units
  • Support in Phase Assessments as part of our continuous improvement system (IWS – Intersnack Work System)
  • Align process flows and interfaces with all applicable functions
  • Develop capability measures and health checks, track capability status on Group level and drive actions to improve
  • Drive groupwide Lessons Learned exchange for Start-Up Management

Job requirements

Education


University degree or vocational training in any technical field, e.g. Engineering, Food Technology, Industrial Mechanics, or similar



Experience

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing and start-ups of production, ideally in FMCG sector, ideally as Start-Up Leader in Capital Expenditure projects
  • Experience as trainer and coach

  • Very good Production Start-Up Management knowledge
  • Very good communication, training and coaching competency
  • Good understanding of continuous improvement methodologies
  • Good Project Management knowledge
  • Structured, thorough and reliable way of working
  • Self-driven and a positive “can do” approach with the ambition to get things done
  • Process and long-term-solutions oriented thinking
  • Very good MS Office skills
  • Fluent spoken and written English is a must, additional language skills are beneficial
  • Domestic and international travel up to 50% of the time is possible
