Purpose of the position

As a Senior Energy Expert you’ll play a key role in identification and evaluation of innovative

sustainable energy solutions and equipment developing well-founded business cases that

contribute to fulfil Intersnack’s ambitious Science Based Scope 1 targets.

Your area of responsibility includes feasibility and conceptual studies of technology solutions and

their applications up to the support of implementation at respective locations as well as of

conduction of Best Value Option Analyses and support to develop successful business cases.

Support in conducting energy mapping to systematically record energy consumption, identify

inefficiencies and determine savings potential at the plant level are also core responsibilities of

this position. Based on these analyses, an energy master plan is developed that defines

measures for energy optimization and decarbonization.

Responsibilities

  • Building and leading a cross-country internal energy engineering network to share knowledge and scale innovations.

  • Support of sustainability targets in line with OGSM, ZLJM, SBTi and Net Zero.

  • Conduct energy mapping and develop plant-specific energy master plans.

  • Perform feasibility and concept studies for new technologies and process improvements.

  • Support the rollout of innovation projects across Intersnack’s European production facilities.

  • Conceptual development of individual ideas (development of business models, business evaluation and business case creation).

  • Development of tailor-made applications to validate concept assumptions.

  • Development and managing a portfolio of ideas and solutions as well as creating and updating a respective roadmap including technology assessments.

  • Intensive collaboration with start-ups, established companies, and external cooperation partners.

  • Definition and development of innovation processes incl. KPIs as well as continuous improvement of methodologies in innovation management.

  • Establishment, management, and expansion of cooperations and partnerships including subsequent joint developments, considering possible subsidies.

  • Support the industrialization of innovation projects in Intersnack’s international production network.

Job requirements

  • University degree in engineering (mechanical, energy, or related fields).

  • 10–15 years of professional experience in energy management with foundation on Science (ideally in the food or chemical industry).

  • Hands-on project management experience (PMI or IPMA certification).

  • Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Passion for sustainable technologies (GreenTech, Industry 4.0, AI).

  • Fluent English skills; additional languages are a plus.

  • Functional Skills: Technology Solutions, Engineering Design, Energy Management, CapEx Project Management

Willing to travel – expected level of travel of this position is up to 50% of the time.
